Non-Staining Antioxidant for White Rubber Sole: Selection & Dosing

Sep 15, 2026

White and light-colored rubber soles require antioxidants that protect against heat and oxygen aging without staining or discoloring. This article covers non-staining phenolic antioxidant masterbatches and their usage in shoe sole compounds.

Staining vs Non-Staining

Amine-type antidegradants (e.g. 6PPD, TMQ) offer strong protection but stain light-colored products. Hindered phenolic antioxidants are the go-to for white/color sole to avoid discoloration.

Recommended Dosage

Typically 1.0–3.0 phr in EVA, SBS, NR or BR sole compounds. Combine with a protective wax for enhanced ozone protection when needed.
